Bus Enhances Mobility Options

To complement the Ride Partners program utlitizing volunteer drivers, we have begun an on-demand, fee-for-service program utilizing wheelchair-accessible buses. The new Mobility Bus program is door-to-door, 24-hour, non-fixed route service with affordable rates. This program is open to Partners In Care members as well as non-members and is available for a variety of transportation purposes ranging from medical appointments, prescription pick-ups/deliveries, social and recreational events, shopping, and other day-to-day activities.

Evening and weekend services are available, except on major holidays. Individual and group rates are available and customers needing assistance may be accompanied by one adult family member or caregiver. Mobility Bus also offers Home-to-Work transportation services from Laurel to Fort Meade for NSA employees. The Mobility Bus program is an expansion of PIC’s award-winning Ride Partners program in which volunteer drivers provide nearly 9,000 rides per year taking people to their doctor appointments, pharmacies, grocery stores, and on errands.

Rates

Current rate is $17 per hour, includes wait time. PIC also offers group rates. Rates are subject to change. For more information, please call our office at 410-544-4800. Some major credit card payments are accepted ONLY.
 

Hours of Operation

Services are available seven days a week, excluding major holidays and inclement weather.

How to Participate

To participate in the Mobility Bus program, you must complete a registration form and submit it to the office. A ONE-TIME REGISTRATION FEE OF $25 IS REQUIRED BEFORE USING THE BUS SERVICE.
