Thank you The Marion I. & Henry J. Knott Foundation for providing funding to support our Ride Partners Program. Our volunteer drivers provided over 8,600 rides in FY 2013!
Most rides are for medical appointments, followed by trips to grocery stores and food banks, hair salons, errands, and social events.
Drivers use their own vehicles; pick members up at their residence; wait with them; then return them safely home. This neighborly service is more than a ride. It's an opportunity for social interaction for isolated seniors.
Members are not charged for rides. They are encouraged to donate to the transportation fund which is used to reimburse drivers for gas. The expectation is that they will give back as they are able through the time exchange program.
Volunteer drivers are needed. We invite you to join us for a life enriching experience! See "Become a Member" for Volunteer Orientation dates. Call Linda Figallo, 410-544-4800, for additional information. Photo courtesy of Sharon Lee Tegler, The Capital
