Repairs With Care
Sometimes it only takes a little help for someone to live independently in the setting they choose. Our volunteer handymen and women make hundreds of repairs to maintain homes: fixing plumbing, patching masonry, changing lights and more. See JOBS TO DO for a list of requested repairs.
We always need funds for materials and people with skills. Sometimes we take on bigger projects and need professionals. Can you or your company help? Contact John or Eb at 410-544-4800 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
To help avoid elder abuse in home repairs, we can suggest contractors and vendors to provide good work at fair prices.
We have a CAPS Certified person on staff (Certified Aging in Place Specialist), and we advocate for Universal Design and Visitability elements to makes homes easier to live in and more accessible.
Kudos to handyman Jim Fleming for this creative solution! Previously, the heavy oxygen tank's small wheels got stuck in the homeowner's thick carpet. Jim built this easy-to-handle cart in his shed with bigger wheels and a sturdy handle. See the before and after pictures below.
