Emergency Kits

Just In Case… Emergency Kits for Seniors

With the support of community partners, we provide emergency kits to help area residents shelter-in-place through the first critical hours and days of an emergency – whether the emergency is a snow storm, power outage, or other event.

Emergency kits contain nine modestly proportioned meals including milk, juices, prepackaged, single-serving foods such as chicken and tuna salad, snacks, apple sauce and peanut butter. A renewable hand-charged AM/FM radio and flashlight is included. The kit is in a water-proof plastic case with a preparedness checklist, instructions, contact numbers for police, fire, utilities, and other useful information.  Each kit costs approximately $50 to build and another $30 to replenish after a year.

Thank you to the Pascal Senior Center for raising money and building kits for 30 people in their neighborhoods.

Thank you also to the Leadership Anne Arundel 2006 Flagship Class for their enthusiastic support for this project. This group raised funds, built, and distributed 170 emergency kits to area residents! Contact LAA '06 representatives John Rothamel 410-987-2003 jrothamel@hospicechesapeake.org or Anne Myers 410-544-4800  annemyers@partnersincare.org for more information.

Get involved! You can help by sponsoring one kit or ten kits. This is a great way for your business or organization to make a difference in the community.

Thank you to our many partners including the AA County Health Department, Pascal Senior Center, Assistance League of the Chesapeake, Raising 4 Reasons, ARINC, M & T Bank, the Volunteer Center of AA County, Baltimore Gas & Electric Company, The Saucy Salamander, WNAV Radio, AA County Emergency Services, Leadership Anne Arundel, United Way, and the Parole Rotary.
